SYNOPSIS
In the play children enter the stage singing in a stylized manner and dancing to rythematic steps with their faces hidden behind the masks of "Grandpa" and "Grandma." The group of children is followed by grandma and grandpa. The old couple have nothing to wait for in their remaining life. They live with the memories of golden era. The couple earn their livelihood by working in the fields. One day a flock of birds flew down to the field.
Amongst them Grandma, to her surprise, noticed a bird similar to her daughter and believed it was their departed daughter. They steal the birds wings and tie her down with a rope. On seeing the pitiable situation of their fellow bird, the other birds came to its rescue forcing the old couple to give her wings back and free her by attacking grandpa and grandma. The act of the birds signifies how breaking the selfish attitude and controlling behaviour of old people is at times necessary for the younger generation to enjoy their freedom and nurture their individual thought process. The play ends with the birds flying into the depths of the vast sky.
